Callie Vivian's studio in this hotel. Panoramic view of resort hotel, tennis courts in foreground, Berkeley hills in background. Calthea Vivian was a well-known artist in the Sacramento valley and it's believed she was a friend of the Blowers sisters of Woodland. She was born May 1, 1857 in Missouri and died December 24, 1943 at the age of 86. Calthea Vivian was a student at the Crocker Art School, the Hopkins Institute of Art in San Francisco, and the Lazar and Colarossi Academy in Paris, Funding for digitization of this resource has been provided by the Friends of the Yolo County Archives
