This collection consists of a variety of records pertaining to marriages in Yolo County, including certificates and licenses, license applications and notices. Early handwritten notices state the names of the bride and groom, date and place of marriage, and are signed by the judge, minister, or Justice of the Peace. Later certificates, licenses, and notices are printed forms.
The collection is arranged chronologically by date of marriage, then alphabetically by name of groom. Separate card indexes are arranged by last name of groom and maiden name of bride. Other information provided: ages, occupations, names and birthplaces of parents, signatures of bride and groom, date sworn, date license issued, license number, expiration date, and county of issue.
